The month of April is the International Month of the Child. We’re pleased to announce that HSFA Staff members and volunteers for our first annual nationwide Campaign for Child Safety and Protection, CSP 2008, will be onsite at the UPS Store #4802, located in the Target Shopping center at 5220 Jimmy Lee Smith Pkwy, Hiram, GA, this Saturday, April 26th from 10am until 2pm. We’ll be providing free digital KIDSAFEIDs and a Family Safety Education Pack with information on how to best protect against fraud, ID Theft and crimes against children. CSP 2008 is made possible by the Homeland Security Foundation of America (HSFA), the FTC, FEMA, and KIDSAFEID, LLC. I would love to. I am very interested in travel, I am interested in places such as castles, landmarks, hot countries and other places. Just email me if you want to, and I will speak with you about it.

Doing some research about America’s volunteers. Who they are, what motivates them. For example; is it as the old stereotype used to be? Are they the middle to upper-class housewives who are just looking for something to do and a way to climb the social status ladder? Or do you think that maybe this there is something more diverse and giving actually going on?

I think Most Americans volunteer. You cannot help but see that, go to a park, who do you think the local baseball coaches and umpires are? Not professionals.

Go to a hospital see how many teens and seniors volunteer there.

Go to any small town, watch what happens when the siren at the firehouse goes off, you’ll see everybody from the local gas station mechanic to some millionaire investor scramble to respond to the call.

In many small towns, most of the government is volunteer even the selectmen who run it.

Go to a recreational area such as a campground, you’ll probably find a volunteer host

Go boating on a lake and some Coast Guard Auxiliary Crew will help you get some training, offer some advice or even rescue you if, God forbid, you have an emergency.

America is not short on volunteerism. Maybe because our volunteers do such a good job that many just assume they are professionals

cuz that is horrible!
It reallllyyy needs personality.
Google resume examples and take a format from one of those example resumes.
especially since u work with kids.

The format of the resume is what will help the emplyer decide whthere they want to read it at all.
For education, JUST put ur high school.
you might want to add your extracurricular activities under a new headline. or put a head linne that says "extracurricular activities and community involvment"
make sure u put down if you were a captain of a team and stuff like that.

I need to get a minimum of 70 hours of volunteer work to get into college, and I’m more then eager to start. The thing is, I want to become a psychologist or go into criminology. I was thinking of volunteering at a rehab center, but I don’t know if they would let me, and I don’t know where else to turn to volunteer my time in the field I’m interested in. Any good suggestions?

You could volunteer at the local hospital, or if you know any mental health centers, that would be a good place. Or your local community center, daycare, etc, Anywhere where you can interact with people is a volunteering situation relevant to your field.
