Indiana Volunteer Fire Fighter Age Limit?

Posted on December 31st, 2011 by admin in volunteer center of | 1 Comment »

Im wondering how old you have to be to be a Volunteer Fire Fighter in the state of Indiana. My grandpa is the Fire Captain of Fowler Center-Township Volunteer Fire Department, which is the one I’m planning on joining. He told me he thought it was 16 with a license. I was wondering if anyone could verify that. Im 15 also.

Your grandpa is the fire captain and doesn’t know? YIKES!

Call the state agency that overseas volunteer firefighters and ask.

I cannot find the yahoog group for Animal Assisted Therapy Volunteers at OSF St Anthony Med Center, Rockford?

I am already a Yahoo Groups member for a couple of sailboat sites.

I have recently joined the AAT Volunteers at OSF St Anthony’s. All of the Volunteers communication is via Yahoo Groups. How do I find it?

they’ll list here

Does anyone know where I can find some volunteer online writers?

I just made a new site 2 days ago and I am looking for some writers and data miners. http://techreviewsandhelp.com/home/about-us/test/jobs/

Since the site is super new and hasn’t made any profit I was wondering where can I find online volunteer writers

On your "about us" page

You need to say that you are NOT a registered charity, that you are NOT a registered business, and that you do not take in any fees or income on the site. You also need to say that volunteering with the site won’t qualify as community service, because it’s not with a registered charity.

Because you are not a registered charity, you can’t use any of the sites that help charities recruit online volunteers. Since the nature of your site is tech, look for tech user groups on yahoogroups, googlegroups, and other online community platforms.

You might let Computer Aid UK know about your effort, and ask if they would let their volunteers know about it:

i’m registered with the volunteer centre and i’ve got a job offer not sure if i should accept it?

the job entails packing toys into boxes and putting them onto a van, it sounds like an easy job, that’s all the job is, it’s volunteering and i think i should take it because i need a new place to work, the chance to mix with new people a new refernece because iv’e been out of work for several years and i don’t have many references. the only thing is, all this job will do is, get me used to working, get me out of the house and get me feeling confident. the other reason why i think i should take it is, because the only place where there is friction and arguement’s is at home. the more i am out of the house, the more i am at peace with myself, the happier i am. i know it’s only volunteering but it’s still work and i have to get back into work before i get a paid job.

should i take it

I would accept the job offer based upon the following (1) have not worked in several years, (2) will gain valuable skills to put on your resume and a solid recent work experience, if possible stay at least six months to a year, (3) there is always the possibility they might offer you a paid job if you are dependable, ambitious and a quick learner and you can transfer to another department or be promoted. (4) if possible try while working to take courses at a vocational school i.e. auto mechanic, electronics, technology etc or enroll at a community college i.e. para legal, medical billing etc. (5)
You can continue to apply for permanent paid jobs while volunteering (6) interaction with new people detaching from the situation at home where there is chaos will help your mental state of mind.

It is a solid move towards gaining work experience and eventually realizing your career goals.

P.S. I started as a volunteer and was hired at a toy company worked for 3 years. Then left after taking some business courses at the community college and landed a job in banking. I started their at a junior administrative and then became a Vice President, 30 years.
