Future Zoologist Sophomore looking for volunteer centers?
Hey, I’m a sophomore of lower LA County, California. I’ve been searching for some animal related, or outdoor volunteer places that will accept a 16 year old.
I LOVE wolves in particular, and know about one shelter about a hour thirty from me that does not offer volunteer jobs.
If anyone out there knows of a good and fun place I may be able to work at, please share.
Or if there are any wolf sanctuaries I’m missing, please share also.
I’d like to be hands on, or near the animals mainly. Whether it be playing with them to helping with their chores.
I also do not want to work at a pound / adoption place.
try spca and any shelters nearby they all need help in one way or another also check the local zoos

Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center Volunteer
Sam Buchl enjoyed volunteering in the Blood Donor Center during his senior year of high school. Donating whole blood takes between 45 to 60 minutes, and donating plasma can take up to two hours. As a volunteer in the Blood Donor Center, Sam was stationed in the waiting area and had numerous responsibilities. He offered refreshments to blood donors, provided magazines and newspapers, set up videotapes for children whose parents were donating blood, helped donors get settled with laptops or other equipment, or sat and talked with donors after they gave blood. Sam and knew how important each donor was to Mayo Clinic and the community, and through his volunteer efforts they made sure that the people who came to donate blood had the best experience possible.

Ritsumeikan Volunteer Center (pt. 2)
Part two of a video made for the volunteer center at Ritsumeikan University (Kinugasa Campus) in Kyoto.
Unfortunately those goons at Warner Music have turned off the audio, so the whole video is pretty much ruined. Feel free to heap your scorn on those corporate swine-headed ingrate mongoloids as much as I have.
Anyway, it was made by a collection of international and Japanese students as part of their JWP Service Learning class in hopes of raising awareness of the volunteer center and encouraging exchange students to include volunteering as part of their experience in Kyoto. Sorry for the small text in the video, but then again you didn’t go on Youtube to read, did you?
So, now that you’re inspired by our crudely made video, go forth and volunteer!

I volunteer at the daycare center at my church. How can I get my assistant to stop putting toddlers in danger?
My assistant and I look after 4 toddlers every evening. They are 13 months, 15 months, 19 months, and one is 2 years old.
I’m just going to come out and say it, my assistant is an IDIOT. She doesn’t know I thing about toddlers and does potentially dangerous activities with them that aren’t age appropriate. She’s a know-it-all and refuses to listen to me when I tell her she’s making a mistake or doing something that could cause harm.
She even takes them outside to play in the parking lot and they run around all over the place and skin their knees. Yesterday, one of the little girls was almost ran over by a vehicle when she was chasing after a softball.
By the time they come back inside from playing, they are usually covered in mud, sweaty, and have scrapes and cuts all over their little legs were they have fallen on the pavement.
They do GREAT when they are in the nursery playing with toys, but my stupid assistant wants to take them outside all of the time.
OH, I forgot to tell you about the time she gave one of them hard candy. Fortunately, I knew how to perform the heimlich maneuver or else he may have died that day.
How can I get through to my assistant that she doesn’t know what she’s doing?
I’m 17, my assistant is 23.
I used to be the only person their who would volunteer. One day she offered to help so I thought "Hey, why not".
Little did I know how bad she was going to be at it.
Talk to the toddlers parents and see if they can explain it to her. Sometimes if it comes from a parent it will cause her to change.
