Anne Carlsen Center Sandbagging Done!

The Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown, ND, is thanking volunteers for assisting with the sandbagging efforts on its campus. Due to concerns about overland flooding, the Center evacuated on Monday and has been sandbagging continuously since then.

Sandbagging efforts will not continue Wednesday, and volunteers are no longer needed, says CEO Dan Howell.

At this point, weve done all we can do to protect the structure, says Howell. We are extremely grateful for the hard work of the many volunteers who have helped us these last couple of days.

Staff and volunteers from the community, including members of several athletic teams at Jamestown College, assisted with the sandbagging.

ACC students are being accommodated at four locations in Jamestown: Jamestown Hospital, Ave Maria, Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center and the Jamestown Civic Center. ACC staff members are at each of these locations, working in partnership with our hosts, to provide quality care.
