Does any one know about volunteering in a Domestic violence Center?

I am (was) a Victim of Domestic Violence and i am wanting to help others see the light…see what they are in and get out.

Do you have any experience?

I am a Peace Corps volunteer working with a women’s rights organization in Romania. One of the items on our wish list is to build a domestic violence shelter for women in our area. As you know, working with victims of violence is a very difficult, touchy job thast requires skills both legally and psychologically. However, there is something to be said for the power of personal experience. If you know of a particular center you want to volunteer for, go in and ask the supervisor if, and how, you are able to help out by volunteering your time.
good luck!
