I think it's good experience, a wonderful learning and life experience with many people from different backgrounds.you will learn a lot of things that you can't learn it in the class. It's helpful for applying to professional health care program.it's another way to help children with autism. I think someone can do something for someone that they need help, that person have very kindness person and I always admire for all volunteer people that they're work hard for poor children or someone that need help
References :
In my opinion it will help a lot in the line of work such as healthcare you are more than likely come gonna come across patients that have a autism, adult and children alike. By helping out at a camp that has children with this condition it will help a lot in programs maybe not physical therapy so much but it will help with professional healthcare programs.
References :
I think this is an excellent choice for you, but not because of its benefit for any job application you fill out, although I'm sure it will provide weight. Working with autistic children will not only be very rewarding, but will give you an opportunity to develop the professional muscle, if you will, of patience and understanding. I, unfortunately, have too much experience with the health care industry, and for every caring and decent practitioner, of all stripes, I can name 10 who should be hung by their heels. And physical therapy really needs people with the qualities you will develop and/or reinforce if you want to work in PT -- a lot of physical therapists become cynical and uncaring because, unfortunately, there are a lot of people getting PT as part of an insurance scam, and to use your gifts and knowledge of healing on people who are working the system can take the wind out of your sails, fast. Also, physical therapy HURTS, and some people can bear it better than others, so again, patience and compassion and an understanding of where a patient is coming from are essential. And if you are looking for a career in PT, you are the kind of person these kids need, so for my two cents, do it, I think you'll be glad the rest of your life, and I think the kids and their parents will be as well. Good luck :)
