What to wear to a charity gala?
I’m going to a fundraising/awards gala held by a volunteer center in Alabama in a few weeks, and I don’t know what I should wear. It’s on a Friday evening (7-11) at a Holiday Inn. I’ve never been to Alabama and am from the north. Here’s a description:
"Held in June, the event features live and silent auctions, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and of course, the much anticipated awards presentation."
What color should I wear? How fancy should my dress be?
You can never go wrong with a little black dress. It is already going to be pretty warm in Alabama so I would go with tea length or shorter. Don’t get something too embellished but also don’t wear a cotton dress.

Nothing too fancy, because the event is for charity and you don’t want to present yourself as a rich snobby type.

i went to a gala last month, and its basically cocktail attire. its not toooooo fancy like prom but its not casual either. anything knee length and u’ll be good. keep it professional, dont have the "girls" hanging out! lol whatever ur style is, im sure u’ll look great!
