How and can i volunteer for a shelter, or a rescue center?
I am 17 and will be 18 in less of 2 months i want to go to college for the animal department, if i volunteer for this source how can i? i want to start a career savings abused, injured, and sick, and all of the above animals but i need the skills to do that, i have always thought i have had a way with animals, when i was little i would bring strays home and fix them up and give them better homes, i have recently taken care of kittens 3 of them the mother got hit by a car so i took them in, one of the kittens was missing a leg so i bangged it and he is the most outgoing of them, i found them in air unit and now they are 8 weeks and they have a good home and made it where they were a package deal, i nursed them and a love them, i am always doin something like that though, please help me i think i was meant to do this, i hate people who dont care of there animals,

That is a good quality to have I’m a thirteen year old living in Nj and I ave passion for animals!! I mean every animals it depends where you live contact a local shelter and asked for an application also tell them all the good things you have done for animals!! I’m volunteering for my local shelter and I had every animal that a hobbyist can think of my house is like a mini zoo!!! Good luck!

Visit your local animal shelter and ask about volunteering. They’ll most likely welcome your offer to help them.There’s loads of jobs to do…cleaning cages, feeding, walking dogs, holding cats, and other countless jobs.

Contact your local humane society they have a listing of agencies that are in need of volunteers.

Go to or call your local shelter and ask about volunteering. The one I volunteered at has many people your age.
You just fill out an application and bring it/mail it in to them and they should get back to you.

Just ask around. Most place are happy to take volunteers.
