Someone hasn’t used it in a couple of months and they forgot the password. Any suggestions on how to reset the password.

does he have the OS disk?
it can reset the password.
Or try some recovery tool like http://www.resetwindowspassword.com/
it is the cheapest one and safe.

   Press F8 to enter safe mode, enter as administrator then go to control panels and reset the password.

   +There are third-party software utilities that will help you reset the password. Some are freely downloadable on the Internet. The only problem is that you have to really beware because most of the sites that offer the utility actually download viruses and spyware to the computer. The other possible option is to try going into it in safe mode and try to log in as ADMINISTRATOR and use a blank password. If that fails, then the only other way is using a password reset utility.
