When the American Revolution began, it looked like the colonies faced insurmountable odds. How did a ragtag band of volunteers without a proper source of funding for food and equipment manage to overcome the most powerful army and navy in the world?

We were the insurgents, the French were Iran and the English were the Americans.

They fought dirty and they lived here. Also, they had French backing. Impossible to subdue a guerrilla nation. This is a lesson humanity has to keep learning over and over again.

    The French!

After playing cat and mouse with the British for a few years, achieving a victory here and there it was the French entering the war on behalf of the colonies that turned the tide.

You know ive thought about that before and the only conclusion i came up with is i guess england flat out underestimated them and france was a piece to the puzzle that helped us win.

They fought well and had a great deal of help from the French Navy in the blockade of Yorktown.

    Two things helped us:

    #1 We knew our land

#2 We did not fight the revolutionary war like the British did. The British marched in columns and bright red coats, we hid in the shadows and picked them off when we could.

They had massive amounts of help from other nations – and particularly from the other most powerful navy in the world – the French navy. Ironic, isn’t it? George W. Bush, because France didn’t support his "war on terra", did his damnedest to insult them from dawn to dusk when, without their help, there’d never have been a United States of America!

    A.
The more powerful the thugs who wish to steal your land – the more powerful you and your neighbors will become. Watch what’s happening in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    BTW
The German King of England used German mercenaries the same way the Pentagon uses Hallibuton and Blackwater Robo-thugs.
