Maybe it’s because …
Maybe it’s because I’ve listened to the shaking voice of a boy that’s ready to be deployed and taken calls back home after they’ve spent some time out in the fields that makes me get this, it’s for sure the honest way the song is presented, and a haunting beautiful beautiful voice that forces you to see the soldier in your minds eye. For all that they do we should be grateful with endless thanks. Amazing song.

Baghdad, Iraq 08-09 …
Baghdad, Iraq 08-09
We volunteer for our Nation…. May not always agree with everything, but we still figh to keep it free… We fight for the guy to our right and left, those are my brothers. A lot of people disagree, but the majority that disagree are not in the military so they would not understand in the first place. lol. they have never had to sacrifice such a priceless cost!

Mrak, from an Iraq …
Mrak, from an Iraq vet who doesn’t always agree with your politics, an apolitical song stirring with authentic emotion. I would only hope some of the other posters here could see it the same way.
Thank you.

You are so so so …
You are so so so wrong. What die YOU do to stop any tyrant? You will be the first to SCREAM for help when someone threatens your daily latte loop, Wake up you selfish, spoiled “me-me-me-me” brat. I’m so thankful you are not my neighbor. THANK GOD FOR PRESIDENT BUSH. A true citizen of this great nation.

Iraq is a base from …
Iraq is a base from which to defeat Islamofascism . Oil in that part of the world gave a profit excuse for greedheads. Islam means reverting to 8th Century feudal society. It must be defeated for Freedom. Soldiers should be honored. This is a topic often sung in every war Obama put 17K more INTO Afghanistan- not a peep from the left. A safe market for THEIR product –Heroin from poppies. Obama is just another cartel more palatable to the oh-so-pious left and their drug dealing bankers.

The song sums up …
The song sums up how a lot of us are feeling. The Iraq war has nothing to do with what is right, and everything to do with certain people making millions of dollars–and at the expense of the men and women who believed their commander in chief had their best interests at heart. Instead–he had no heart! I honor those who serve and have served. You deserve more than Bush gave you. You deserve compensation for your sacrifice, health care that works, and more–the truth about why you were there.

It’s hard to remember the human element, the blood and bone, while so many are shouting from soap boxes. Thank You, Mark, for writing songs for those who can’t and reminding us this war is about people.
