Robert played for the Marlboro County Bulldogs (Bennettsville). I saw them win 2 4A Division II State Championships. Ayers was on the 2001 team. They beat region rival Conway Tigers, 17-10. In 1998, they beat the Ridge View Blazers (Columbia). I forgot the score, but they just blew the Blazers out. That was the same day (Dec. 4, 1998) that Lou Holtz was hired as the football coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Ona titans message board I advocated ayers for our 30th pick because in the titans system he could line up anywhere on the D-line.

As a 3-4 OLB he might be a liability in coverage and only an average pass rusher but you try to run in his area blocking him with a fullback or TE he will beat you.

Robert, as a South Carolina resident, I just want to congratulate you on being the first player from SC that was taken in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Denver Bronco’s. I know that you are looking forward to making your debut in August. I saw you when you and your team mates won the 2001 4A Little 30 State Championship over Conway. I also saw the 1998 win over Ridge View. You came from a good program. Good luck.

Doesnt play real “pretty”, but very effective. The one play that stands out is the inerception. Doesn’t look like zone blitz, looks like he just read the play and was playing screen.

    He’s not all that …
He’s not all that impressive but he sure gets the job done. Kinda ironic he gets the better of Moreno in a couple plays in this. Coming from a program like TN, he’ll do just fine. Just like Wesley Woodyard who showed up for the Broncos a few games last year. Go Broncos!

As a Broncos fan Im not impressed. And he led the Vols with 4 sacks?? Im not wowed at all by this guy. Nothing about him stands out. He’s not that strong, he doesnt have that many moves, he’s not that fast at all. On top of that, this was his only good year. I gotta see what he does against Clady and Harris in training camp.
