Volunteers – Jefferson Airplane [Live at Woodstock 1969]
Volunteers – Jefferson Airplane
Live at Woodstock 1969
Lyrics:
Look whats happening out in the streets
Got a revolution got to revolution
Hey Im dancing down the streets
Got a revolution got to revolution
Aint it amazing all the people I meet
Got a revolution got to revolution
One generation got old
One generation got soul
This generation got no destination to hold
Pick up the cry
Hey now its time for you and me
Got a revolution got to revolution
Come on now were marching to the sea
Got a revolution got to revolution
Who will take it from you
We will and who are we
We are volunteers of america

We really don’t …
We really don’t have as much to revolve against today.
Plus Britney and Miley are definatly not the modern day’s equals to Grace and Janis. The Supremes would be a lot closer.
Compare factory made pop to other factory made pop, and counter-culture icons to other countre-cultrure icons.

I will never …
I will never understand how we went from Grace Slick and Janis Joplin to britney and miley. This younger generation is screwed. I wish I grew up in the 60s. Freedom, love, and revolution. Whatever happened to that.

Spencer passed away …
Spencer passed away a couple of years ago I guess. I wonder why this was not on the latest version of Woodstock Movie. Mine only has Saturday afternoon and 3/5ths of a Mile on it…not this. Where did this come from? Wierd that this is not in the movie given it is on the original Woodstock album.

i know what you’re …
i know what you’re talking about. The live audio track must’ve been edited a bit, because she never said that right before Volunteers, nor was it the first song Jefferson Airplane performed at Woodstock. However, she did say it before their opening act

Hey, wait a minute! …
Hey, wait a minute! Isn’t their Woodstock performance of this song immediately preceeded by Grace saying something like “you’ll now be listening to morning maniac music…and then “Good Morning, People!” Why is it not on this vid?? And what makes you so sure that Spencer’s snare head is cracked?? Doesn’t sound like it to me. I’ve cracked many, and can’t get this sound. Hmmm? joel in tucson
